I have been to north & west parts of India .The city which I have liked the most is Chandigarh .It’s not a small town , but a really developed city. Chandigarh is the best -Planned city in India with well-renowned architecture and a high quality of life.
Chandigarh lies in the north of India on the foothills of the Shivalik hills. It is situated at an altitude of about 365 meters above the sea level. It is enclosed by three states, namely, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. As the capital of the states of Punjab and Haryana, and the Union Territory of Chandigarh is an eminent city consists of multi cultural artistic peoples and languages and the city with full of artistic monuments.
There are plenty of places in Chandigarh to visit like rose garden, Sukhna Lake, Rock Garden.For the party lovers, there are a few discotheques like in Aerizzona in Sector 9, Jail House Rock in Sector 17-B & Las Vegas Den. People who love spending their time in shopping; there is breathtaking shopping complex in Sector 17, also known as city center. Shopping in Chandigarh is a lively experience, as there are plenty of happening places to shop at. There is a plethora of shopping malls, where you can find the posh crowd shopping and enjoying themselves.
In the list of Chandigarh nearby places, we have some wonderful places like Kasauli and Chail. Though they are not very big modern cities, but definitely they serve as the perfect destinations, when you are trying to escape from your daily routine fast life.
The best time to visit Chandigarh is the period between mid August and November, when the weather is neither too hot nor too cold. Since Chandigarh is located in the plains; it enjoys a moderate weather like other North Indian cities experience. Summers are sometimes very hot and then the arrival of monsoon comes like a pleasant surprise.
